Eligible Groups for VSS /GVP

Before receiving quadrivalent influenza vaccination service

You can first check whether you are eligible for the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) or the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP) .

If you are not eligible for the above two plans, you can make an appointment directly at our online store for the quadrivalent influenza vaccine with self-payment fee.

If you are eligible to the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS), please use phone or WhatsApp to make an appointment.

If you are eligible to the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP), please visit the Centre for Health Protection’s website to check the vaccination locations provided by the government.

Am I eligiable to Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS)?

Eligible persons can visit the clinics of private doctors enrolled in the VSS or outreach venues to receive subsidised seasonal influenza vaccination. Subsidy level of one dose of seasonal influenza vaccine is HK $260.

2023/24 Vaccination Subsidy Level and Eligible Groups
1. Pregnant Women Hong Kong residents
2. Persons of Age 50 Years or Above Hong Kong residents and age of 50 years or above this year
3. Children (Persons of age between 6 months and less than 18 years) Hong Kong residents who meet either of the following conditions on the day of vaccination:
- Children and adolescents of age between 6 months and less than 18 years, or
- Persons of age 18 years or above but studying at a secondary school in Hong Kong
(Please bring along the student card or handbook and submit a photocopy to the doctor)
4. Persons With Intellectual Disability (PID) Hong Kong residents who hold:
- The Registration Card for People with Disabilities indicating intellectual disability or mental handicap ; or
- A certificate certifying the person is a PID or eligible for the VSS 2023/24 issued by a registered doctor or the person in-charge from the designated institutions serving the PID

5. Recipients of Disability Allowance Hong Kong residents who hold an approval letter of successful application for Disability Allowance issued by the Social Welfare Department (Vaccination date should fall within the period of receiving Disability Allowance).

6. Recipients of Standard Rate of "100% Disabled" or "Requiring Constant Attendance" Under CSSA Hong Kong residents of age 18 to under 50 years who are recipients of standard rate of '100% disabled" or 'requiring constant attendance' under the Comprehesive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme and hold: - A Certificate of OSSA Recipients (for Medical waivers)' issued before 15 December 2018. or
- The new Annex page of 'Notification of Successful Application" / 'Notification of Revision of Assistance"
(React submit a photocopy of the above document to the doctor and sign a self-declaration form provided by the doctor enrolled in the VSS before vaccination.)

Am I eligiable to Government Vaccination Programme (GVP)?

Eligible persons can visit the clinics enrolled in the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP)

Government Vaccination Programme (GVP) 2023/24 Eligible Groups for Free Seasonal Influenza Vaccination
1. Pregnant women Pregnant women who are Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients or holders of valid Certificate for Waiver of Medical Charges (Certificate)
2. Residents of Residential Care Homes Residents of Residential Care Homes (such as Residential Care Homes for the Elderly or Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities)
3. Persons aged 50 years or above - Elderly aged 65 years or above
- Aged 50 years to under 65 who are CSSA recipients or validCertificate holders
4. Persons with chronic medical problems - Existing patients of the designated public clinics, who are CSSA recipients or valid Certificate holders and have high-risk conditions#
- Existing patients of the designated public clinics, who are recipients of standard rate of “100% disabled” or “requiring constant attendance” under CSSA
- In-patients (including paediatric patients) of Hospital Authority (HA) with high-risk conditions# (e.g. those in infirmary, psycho-geriatric, mentally ill or mentally handicapped units/wards)
- Paediatric out-patients with high-risk conditions# or on long-term aspirin therapy
- Disability Allowance recipients or persons with intellectual disability who are existing clients of HA, clinics of Department of Health (DH), designated day centres, sheltered workshops or special schools
5. Healthcare workers (HCWs) HCWs of DH, HA, Residential Care Homes (such as Residential Care Homes for the Elderly or Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities), Residential Child Care Centres (RCCCs) or other Government departments
6. Children and Adolescents aged 6 months to under 18 years - Children and Adolescents aged 6 months to under 18years from familiesreceiving CSSA or holding valid Certificate (Students of schools participating in 2023/24 Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach (Free of Charge) may also receive free vaccination at School Outreach)
- Residents of RCCCs
7. Poultry workers Poultry workers or workers who may be involved in poultry-culling operations
8. Pig farmers and pigslaughtering industry personnel Pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel
