Graduated as physiotherapist from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 1992, Dr Man Chung had served in various local public hospitals for over 25 years, during which he had acquired extensive knowledge and experience in various clinical areas such as orthopedics, spinal cord injury, sports injury, and pulmonary rehabilitation. He was awarded Master of Science (Health Care) and Doctor of Philosophy in 1997 and 2015 respectively. His research interests included injury surveillance, sports injury prevention and motion analysis. As a founding fellow of The Hong Kong Physiotherapy College and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and PolyU, Dr Chung, who specialises in sports injury rehabilitation, supports the education of local physiotherapy students, doctors, paramedical staff and community partners through the delivery of lectures, presentations and trainings. Dr Chung has recently been appointed as guest lecturer of The Hong Kong Baptist University, teaching in the area of exercise prescription for special population such as elderies, women, children and various disease groups. After acquiring Diploma in Acupuncture in 2002, Dr Chung has been keen on using acupuncture as one of the modalities to treat his clients. Dr Chung has served, as in-charge, at the Spinal Cord Tertiary Rehabilitation Center for over 15 years. His specialties include pain management, functional training, and spasticity management for spinal cord injury patients. Having worked so closely with various community partners, he has been appointed Honorary Physiotherapy Consultant for local SCI associations and self-help groups. As former Executive Committee-cum-Team Physiotherapist of the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee, Dr Chung has devoted himself to serve the Hong Kong disabled delegates in various local and overseas tournaments for over 25 years, providing physiotherapy support to Hong Kong delegates at the Paralympic Games. Dr Chung has been Head of Classification (Wheelchair Fencing) of International Wheelchair & Amputee Sports Federation since 2014 and is now working closely with International Paralympic Committee and other international organizations to support and develop the classification system in wheelchair fencing.
