Hassle-free medication delivery within 4 hours earliest after teleconsultationVirtus Medical joins forces with SF Express HK and Kerry Pharma to launch Medication Home Delivery Service
(Hong Kong, 26 April 2022) Virtus Medical Group (Virtus Medical) today announced the launch of a new telemedicine service. With the joint force of SF Express HK and Kerry Pharma, patients can enjoy safe, reliable and same-day delivery of medication.
Supervised and safe medication delivery is of top concern
The adoption of telemedicine is emerging rapidly in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic. Video appointments with patients and healthcare practitioners could avoid cross-infection among participants, enabling everyone, especially mild symptomatic patients and the high-risk groups, including the elderly and patients with chronic diseases, to stay home. Dr Samuel Po-Yin Kwok, medical director of Virtus Medical, said, "Many people with chronic illnesses are reluctant to visit clinics for their follow up consultation due to the fear of contracting an infection. Some may feel anxious and helpless due to the lack of medication." Dr Kwok supplemented, "In addition to allowing patients to receive appropriate treatment as soon as possible, delivering drugs to patients safely and accurately is also a problem we must solve before launching the telemedicine service." Unlike other consumer goods, medication must be stored and transported under strict regulations. The entire process must be maintained within a standard temperature to avoid drug deterioration.
Drug delivery within 4 hours earliest with a self-owned fleet
SF Express HK operates its own professional express delivery team with an extensive logistics network. With the additional support from Kerry Pharma's pharmacists and quality assurance (QA) team, patients can receive the medication within 4 hours at the earliest after teleconsultation. Keith Ip, Chief Marketing Officer of S.F. Express (Hong Kong) Limited, said, "Unlike ordinary parcel delivery, we provide a sophisticated and tailored medication delivery mechanism for each patient, and apply epidemic prevention to ensure safe and hygienic deliveries." Phoebe Mo, General Manager of Kerry Pharma (Hong Kong), said, "Under the stringent supervision by our pharmacists and the QA team, we can safeguard the quality of the medication in a safe delivery process."
Pharmacists keep close tabs on drug safety and ensure drugs are delivered to the right person
The entire drug delivery process can be monitored through a digital tracking system. Patients can also check the latest delivery status and courier information from SF Express's official website and mobile app. Before the medication is delivered, patients will receive the delivery password through their mobile phones. The courier needs to confirm the password when the patient is receiving the drug. Pharmacists from Virtus Medical will call to check and explain the medication and precautions to patients upon delivery.
