Neurologists, rehabilitation specialists and physiotherapists work together in this facility to provide personalized diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation for individuals with diseases, injury, or disorders of the nervous system. A typical rehabilitation program begins with a neuropsychological assessment performed by a rehabilitation specialist to recommend the most appropriate course of treatment. Physiotherapists, specializing in neurology, combine traditional therapeutic approaches with technological approaches to enable higher levels of functional recovery. Technological approaches include the use of therapy robotics that support the administration of physical exercise to the upper and lower extremities with the purpose of promoting neuro-motor recovery and non-invasive brain stimulation such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) which have demonstrated positive effects on slowing or reversing cognitive decline. Our interdisciplinary team is experienced in serving patients suffering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases and our goal is to help patients improve function, reduce symptoms and optimize their participation in society and sense of wellbeing.
